Quote from: djr18fan on June 18, 2022, 11:06:57 AMA 12 month wait for Toyota RAV4 Hybrids equals about 15,000 orders. Throw in another few thousand for the 6-9 month delay

I believe it is closer to 2 year wait for a Hybrid RAV4.

Quote from: Sonic on June 13, 2022, 05:45:35 PMactually there was another TA2 I think at the start of one of the races between 2/3 as well but I was a fair way off from that so don't know if it was damage or 'just stopped'

Damage.

Having seen them a few times now, they look the part, they sound the part, they go alright, don't mind leaning onto each other and seem reliable unlike some classes out there.

Quote from: Sonic on June 12, 2022, 08:17:20 PMit was (*&^%$ COLD at the track Sat/Sun...

The Ford Rangers have nice heated seats so I only got cold if we had to do something (like the F3 driver extrication on Saturday).

Quote from: Sonic on June 12, 2022, 08:17:20 PMsafety car got too much work when they were on track.

So did the Safety Team.

Quote from: Trevor on May 22, 2022, 12:13:31 PMGee, small crowd

Seen bigger but still reasonable looking around from my infield parking spot.

Believe camping was slightly down and the turn 4-5 & 10-11 mounds weren't packed like they'd normally be.

Most unusual thing from my perspective was the lack of damage overall across all categories, other than the utes, even the Formula Ford kiddies behaved although they might've been too busy trying to keep up with Blanchard to worry about battling among themselves.

So Jake rakes the Turn 5 barriers.  What was all of the white stuff on the track?  Styrofoam?  Hot dog wrappers?  It looks to me the barriers are dense foam rubber backed up by the tire bundles.  Where did the white pieces come from?

The plastic blocks that form the Tecpro barrier which sits in front of the standard tyre & conveyor belt set up is full of foam, it is not the usual white styro foam but the coffee coloured foam you see in mattresses and car seats but the video & photo's make it look white for some reason ??

He slammed into the block hard enough to rip it open and spill the contents everywhere which is what they're designed to do it hit hard enough I believe.

I was a marshal on that corner and all 3 cars which crashed on Thursday where going to have a crash into the wall Tecpro barrier or not, the Tecpro barrier reduced the impact but also had to be rebuilt after each impact with Kostecki being the hardest hit.

The clean up was fairly quick, it was the decision to remove 20+ metres of the Tecpro barrier to give cars a bit of wriggle room after the Kostecki hit that took more time and caused the delay.

Vettel had a weekend to forget, his crash out of 4 in the race looked like a rookie mistake and not like the pro driver we all know he is.

The Tecpro barrier blocks are plastic blocks filled with styrofoam and he destroyed one on impact.

I'm marshalling at Turn 5 so had a grandstand view of all 3 Tecpro hits on Thursday.

If you are looking to include 2 wheeled racing don't forget they held a TT at the Laverton RAAF base but I've never seen a layout published.

There was also 2 & 4 wheeled circuit racing and Drag Racing at the Fishermans Bend Airfield which is now long gone.

Speedway / Cam Waters
December 28, 2021, 09:04:17 PM
Tickford Racing Supercars racer Cam Waters ran a Sprintcar last season and got better as the season progressed and more racing miles under his belt.

He is running again this season and was an innocent victim in a coming together between Jack Lee & Tim Hutchins at the end of the 2nd lap A Main at Avalon on Boxing Day.

Sadly the fast approaching noise curfew and amount of catch fence damage put an end to the nights racing.

Waters car is the one on its side behind the car of Hutchins, no injuries to drivers or spectators.

This season will be a bedding down one as the racers and track crew get used to the new surface and preping it to suit different weather days so next season will be the big test.

Will also be interesting to see how the Paramatta Specialists handle having a concrete wall on the outside instead of the wide expanses of the trotting track.

Quote from: madbugger on November 29, 2021, 07:14:11 PMEvery so often you see a story on getting it back up and running again, unfortunately that is not going to happen.🥲

I never got there when it was running sadly.

I believe they have half buried the race track several years ago when the weir wall needed urgent reinforcing making a Jesus like resurrection impossible.

Anyone here remember Robyn Hamilton?

Sure do, she was a pretty good driver as well in a era when female racers were few and far between sadly.
