Quote from: AlbertM on January 03, 2024, 12:12:14 PMThey didn't. If you watch the footage you see clay moulding, taped on bits and rough cut aluminium angle used. Since then they would have turned out new parts that would be used in race conditions.

They did, as well as having the extras they made on site.

I hope young Zak Best can get a seat, the kid more than deserves it. Possibly pick up the second BRT seat, as I don't think Aaron is ready just yet?

I was genuinely impressed with how Dan went this weekend. He seemed comfortable and able to push, which is better than he could do in the McLaren.

To come back to 13th in the race from what happened at turn 1 as well, was a really solid drive.

Quote from: mikeamerica84 on July 22, 2023, 06:42:06 AMNo spoliers here.  I'll leave that to someone else to start that thread.

What tweaks to the Fords are we to expect from Supercars for the round?

Anyone in the know?

From everything I've read, it looks like they're possibly going to run a smaller throttle body to help with driveability.

https://www.speedcafe.com/2023/07/18/supercars-on-course-for-singapore-gp-deal/

My sense is that F1 must be paying Supercars to go? How would it make sense financially otherwise?
Seems the races would be held during the day, so hopefully not 8 lap demonstrations ala the AGP.

I don't mind the idea of racing in Singapore, but there's plenty that needs to be done on our shores before looking at that. It just must stack up money-wise.

From what I read, it is funded by the Singapore promoters, and they will fund the air travel as well as pay an appearance fee.

Kostecki to make NASCAR Cup Series debut at Indianapolis

Brodie having a crack at the Cup series next month!

Hopefully he does well. It will be a much bigger challenge for Brodie, as they've all ran the track before. I don't know if he is quite as fast as Shane either, even with some previous stock car experience.

Glad to have you back posting after the extended shutdown of the site, Riley.

Cheers Mike, It's always a great place to be.

Hopefully they sort the Stangs out for Bathurst, otherwise I can see them being in a world of hurt. If they do, Cam and Moff could be on for a good result!

How good!! So keen to have the two Aussies out there.

All the talk is that Dan all but matched the times that Max got pole with.

I can only see this as another step closer to the RB seat, otherwise they would have thrown Lawson in the seat.

I knew Kyle Busch would need to make an excuse.

He was full of praise for him, having teamed up with him at the Daytona 24H, he knew he'd be quick. Like a few have said, this is Shane's bread and butter.

Moving to LHD is a big change, but he's a professional driver, it's easy to adapt to that.

It's a mighty impressive feat, although not much of a surprise. As Kyle Busch said, "He's got a four, five or eight year head start on us in cars like this".

The decision to keep the penalty, but then hand Fernando his position back absolutely has me perplexed. If the penalty stands, then for me they had to take the position of the cars after that incident.

Is this essentially an extension/cousin of Summernats?

Yeah, essentially a much more family friendly version of Summernats.
