Tickford Racing Supercars racer Cam Waters ran a Sprintcar last season and got better as the season progressed and more racing miles under his belt.

He is running again this season and was an innocent victim in a coming together between Jack Lee & Tim Hutchins at the end of the 2nd lap A Main at Avalon on Boxing Day.

Sadly the fast approaching noise curfew and amount of catch fence damage put an end to the nights racing.

Waters car is the one on its side behind the car of Hutchins, no injuries to drivers or spectators.

As I went to bed last night word filtered through of a serious crash involving an early 90's Touring Car at Brands Hatch, as the event was being live streamed to YouTube someone had captured and posted the lead up which confirmed reports the crash involved the car heading towards a marshals post.

Sadly I woke up this morning to the news that one of the UK Orange Army of volunteer marshals has died as a result of injuries, the condition of the others has not been reported and the driver involved is reported to have suffered a broken leg.

This sport that we enjoy can sometimes bite hard and my thought are with my Orange Army colleagues in the UK as well as the drivers involved.
