Update for Bathurst:
A: 17, 25
B: 5, 88
C: N/C
D: 8, 26
D: 31, 96, 22
You have been updated.  Note that in your Group A changes, you already have the 25 car.  So that is only one change.  Group B makes two more changes.  You still have one Group A-C change left to keep in your pocket.  You are out of reshuffles for Groups D1 & D2.

These look good.  I am sure success is in your future!

In all of the years running, has Bathurst ever been postponed and run at a later date due to weather?

Our holiday car, a 2016 PXII Ford Ranger

Right hand drive aside, the one thing that got my attention here, Trev, is which side the awning is on with respect to your trailer.  Like RHD, totally opposite of here in the States.

I never knew that/noticed that.  Learn something every day.   :)

And Pye gets a new sponsor - it's starting to look a little mishmash. Nonetheless, great to see a new sponsor come in.

The way Scott's season has gone at a few past rounds, one better get a good look at this one before it hits the track.

Tsunoda Retained by AlphaTauri for 2023
By Chris Medland | September 22, 2022 8:05 AM ET

Yuki Tsunoda will remain with AlphaTauri for the 2023 season, though he may still have a new teammate when entering his third year in Formula 1.

The Japanese driver progressed rapidly through the junior categories to secure a race seat at AlphaTauri in 2021, ending his rookie season with an impressive fourth place in Abu Dhabi. After three point-scoring finishes in his first five starts this year, Tsunoda has failed to score since the Spanish Grand Prix but AlphaTauri says it has seen enough progression to warrant retaining him for 2023.

"I want to say a huge thank you to Red Bull, Honda and Scuderia AlphaTauri for continuing to give me the opportunity to drive in F1," Tsunoda said. "Having moved to Italy last year, to be closer to the factory, I really feel part of the team and am glad that I get to carry on racing with them in 2023. Of course, our 2022 season isn't over yet and we're still pushing hard in the midfield battle, so I'm fully focused on finishing it on a high and then we will look forward to next year."

AlphaTauri team principal Franz Tost says all young drivers should get three years if they show potential, and wants Tsunoda to start to deliver on that in the remaining rounds this year.

"As we've seen since he joined us last year, Yuki is a very talented driver and has improved a lot this season," Tost said. "The pace he has shown recently is clear evidence of a steep learning curve, which proves he deserves a seat in F1, and I still expect some strong results from him in the last six races of 2022.

"As I always say, a driver needs at least three years to fully get to grips with Formula 1, so I'm pleased he's been given the time to show his full potential. In addition, it's a testament to Dr. (Helmut) Marko and his driver program that we're able to bring these young talents up from the junior categories and develop them.

"I'd like to join Yuki in thanking Red Bull and AlphaTauri, as well as Honda, for their continuous support and for allowing him to stay with us for another year."

While Tsunoda provides stability at AlphaTauri, there's uncertainty over his teammate. Pierre Gasly was announced as staying earlier this year, but has since been courted by Alpine and a deal is understood to be provisionally agreed for him to leave if Alpine selects him and AlphaTauri lines up a replacement.

That replacement was intended to be Colton Herta but Super License issues have all but ended those hopes, with Nyck de Vries receiving interest after his impressive debut for Williams at Monza.

Gasly — or any reference to the second seat — was not mentioned in the AlphaTauri announcement regarding Tsunoda.

Not too surprising.  I can see the angle in wanting to keep a Japanese driver, AND there is still no word on the other driver yet.

Well the races on speedvision back in the day were condensed...
The condensed coverage we got of Supercars circa 2004-2005 albeit QUITE condensed, gave me my first look at the Bathurst 1000.  A one hour presentation of the Great Race.  The first time they went up through Griffins Bend, then the Cutting, and across the top and down, my jaw was in my lap.  I had heard about this race in the early/mid-90s when Dick Johnson came over to the States and ran a couple of NASCAR road races in the Redcote Ford but that was it until then.  Media/internet coverage was simply not there for us.  The announcers spoke of the Bathurst 1000 and its place in Australian motorsport, and I always remembered that.

So when it comes to Bathurst, THAT condensed version from the mid 2000s was the moment this Yank became hooked on Supercars.  I have since learned more and more about it, the drivers, the cars, and the series.

Yams and I may have gotten a bit off topic with our Yank banter, but I think I just may have gotten us back between the ditches for this thread.  Let us continue on, talk about Bathurst, and possibly throw some spoliers out there.   ;D

I remember the early days of Speedvision, and in 2011, SPEED TV (now FS1) televised the entire event.

A prequal to that was Jason Bright taking Darrell Waltrip around the course a few times.  Still hilarious:

24-Race 2023 F1 Calendar Confirmed, Including U.S. Dates
By Chris Medland | September 20, 2022 12:52 PM ET

The 2023 Formula 1 calendar will feature a record 24 races, starting on March 5 in Bahrain and ending with Abu Dhabi on November 26.

A meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council approved the 2023 calendar by e-vote on Tuesday, confirming the largest schedule in the sport's history as races in China and Qatar return and Vegas will make its debut, with only the French Grand Prix disappearing from this year's schedule.

The United States is the country with the most races as it will host three – Miami is scheduled for May 7, Austin on October 22 and the new addition of Las Vegas on the Saturday night of November 18 – while Italy has two in Imola and Monza.

There are two triple-headers of Imola-Monaco-Barcelona and USA-Mexico-Brazil on the schedule at this stage, although it remains to be seen if China goes ahead on April 16 or if the early races could be reorganized.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says the calendar reflects the interest in the sport from new host locations but also a desire to retain more traditional venues on the schedule.

"We are excited to announce the 2023 calendar with 24 races around the world," Domenicali said. "Formula 1 has unprecedented demand to host races and it is important we get the balance right for the entire sport. We are very pleased with the strong momentum Formula 1 continues to experience and it is great news that we will be able to bring our passionate fans a mix of exciting new locations such as Las Vegas to the championship with much-loved venues across Europe, Asia and the Americas."
FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said that the schedule reflects F1's growing global appeal, and noted that efforts had been made to accommodate other major motorsport events.

"I am delighted that we will be able to take Formula 1's new era of exciting racing, created by the FIA's 2022 Regulations, to a broader fan base in 2023," he said. "In framing the 2023 F1 calendar, WMSC Members have also been mindful of the timing of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans."

Le Mans is scheduled to take place one week after the Spanish Grand Prix on the weekend of June 10/11.

Sandown this weekend, boys.  I tell you, Aus TCR is worth a watch.  If I am watching it from HERE, you should be watching it from THERE.

well what'd you think? I got drenched!! and then hailed on to top it off at the end of their race...

loading my pics now to see what I got of that last lap t6 slide (when it started I had images in my head of another 86 moment!)

No.  I am waiting patiently for my source to provide it to me.  Maybe by the end of the day here?  ~14 hours behind you.

an even bigger drenching today... I am soaked! got some cool air shots in the final tcr race... keep an eye on my photo page :)
I am finally getting the goods from my source.  He probably had to be rescued by boat from the way you described the weekend.  :)

Back to watching the Queen's procession for now with my morning coffee.
