Completely agree with Roland on this one:

The test day was a massive failure.

Does anyone have a basic Camaro/Mustang livery template they'd be willing to share for the fantasy community?

I'd been using a ZB freebie from Penrite for a long time...

Always fun and something to keep an extra eye on during the race. Highly recommended to all :D!
It keeps those mid to back of the pack battles interesting.

Don't think a Mustang ran on softs today

Barry Ryan is the only one saying that, based off he did see any white paint on the tyres. Mark Dutton said similar but has back-tracked a bit since Grove confirmed they ran soft tyres.

Grove running greens and finishing a tenth behind a used set by Anton should be a bigger concern.

Going by those comments I'd say that Chaz was on a used set as well, with Hazelwood running greens - my assumption.

With the Ford donk 60kg heavier,

A fully dressed Coyote is 5kg heavier than a fully dressed LS3 (street trim). Wonder where the extra 55kg comes from in race trim?

That's a good point, everything is hearsay at the moment.

Wonder if the weight and COG is settled with the prototypes.  If not, all that "testing" has been for nothing.

It seems Supercars ran this as a troubleshooting/durability session, because it sure wasn't a bench marking/parity test.
I don't understand how they can provide lap times and cause a furore amongst the fans given they haven't even settled on the rules yet (minimum weight/COG).

Well played by Ford, if there is a deficit, it's not over 1sec at a 3.9km track. They're playing their cards to ensure another VCAT test happens.

If the minimum weight hasn't been set it means that the COG hasn't been identified either, with the Ford donk 60kg heavier, right over the front wheels too.
More weight = more downforce? Which is why the thought is that the Mustang has more front and less rear downforce (comparatively). I'm no aero engineer, just putting 2+2 together.

Interesting to see if they will allow an extra test day at Winton/QR to catch up for today's limited running.

Either way it certainly adds to the chances of a chaotic and unpredictable Newcastle.

I'm genuinely looking forward to that.
Going into a weekend with a bunch of unknowns - setup, driveability, mechanical, who's on the front foot - is something we haven't experienced since... 1993?

Albert's right. I'm pretty certain that they'll swap the guards to suit the air spike. Different routed lines will be something they do between rounds - as per fuel and the air spike previously.

I've only just now noticed the air spike entry point is at the front of the car.

I'm neither here nor there on the Red Bull. The matte blue and red harks back to 2017. Except more busy now...

More of an issue is that the Camaro doesn't seem to lend itself to liveries as well as the Mustang.
WAU and Castrol seem the pick of the bunch IMO.

Monster and Tickford have likely sorted their issues out. Cam has given a sneak peak of the reveal on Instagram, with a green light behind the silhouetted car.

Both engines and aero to get another look:
https://www.speedcafe.com/2023/02/15/gen3-supercars-set-for-last-minute-chassis-dyno-run/
https://www.speedcafe.com/2023/02/15/gen3-supercars-set-for-further-aero-testing/

This is how one gets caught out in a lie. Supercars say that all is within spec, Dane has a whinge about Fords whinge, GM suit has a whinge about Fords whinge.

If Fords concerns are baseless why the need for more testing?

Whinging wins 8).

Holdsworth back with Mostert and Coulthard with Percat:

Looks like Luff is still contracted to WAU, dare say a wildcard is in the works.

Saw a photo of the Castrol car at the circuit and it doesn't look metallic, unfortunately.

R&J Batteries for Andre released this morning too, another white car but looks good.

Rumours of Tickford losing Monster are starting to swirl. I haven't verified these yet but apparently there are no Monster branded merchandise in the Tickford store and Cam was apparently wearing a Tickford branded race suit and not a Monster branded race suit for the shake down the other day.

Will be interesting to see what comes of it...

Great pickup - I did notice Cam wearing JC's suit at the test but didn't think anything of it.

AutoAction report that the Monster deal is in it's final stages and expected to go through, however the fact that they'd rather debut a fully black car and the driver wear a different suit might mean it's soured?
https://www.motorsport.com/v8supercars/news/tickford-debuts-plain-black-gen3-mustang/10429330/

Those WAU cars look fantastic. I prefer the Percat one, the number on the door does it for me.
