It is great to see another Mustang competing in this class and winning both races.

George Miedecke is a proven very good driver but not up to Supercar standards (although better than some current Supercar drivers).

Young Ryland Gray seems to be the real deal and we will hear a lot more from him in the future.

Plaudits to Andrew Miedecke for importing this car.

A little whimsy.

Jamie Whincup would like to run additional Wildcards events but isn't allowed to.

I wonder if 888 could lease the car, the driver, the crew and sponsor to PremiAir (e.g.) for an extra race meeting.

QuoteSpeaking at the launch, T8 managing director Whincup admitted that he'd happily see the programme extend to even more rounds, however his understanding if that it's not allowed under the current Teams Racing Charter.

"The TRC states that we can only do a maximum three, so we're doing the maximum," he told Speedcafe.

"We'd love to do a fourth and fifth given the opportunity, but the rules don't allow it at this stage.

It's good but is is not your best Nick. It is cluttered and sponsor driven.

It is nice to see MSR with so much financial assistance.

Loved the Anglia's, particularly yellow. One of these was my favorite racecar albeit tickled with Cortina, Lotus and Zephyr parts as a Sports Sedan.

I don't think that personal sponsorships should conflict with the team sponsorship.

e.g. Would Mostert be able to wear Boost signage and drive an Optus sponsored car?

Quote from: muz on April 08, 2024, 12:29:47 PMThis team has shown they make very poor communication errors to create a desired image.

The sponsors didn't walk over a health issue.
I have been wondering about the sponsor issues.

Coke has been switching contracts in and out of teams for years including current recipient BJR, so I see nothing unusual about that.

I have always associated Shaw and Partners with Will Brown and Jack Perkins and they had both departed.

The third sponsor was so insignificant that I have already forgotten them.

Maybe it was just a normal end of season sponsor rearrangement.

I wonder if Todds sponsor TFH will continue with a Toddless Erebus and just sponsor his TA2?

Another TOP 10 finish from Ecurie SCarGo.

In fact, every race has been a top 10 result.

TCR Australia / Re: 2024 TCR Australia Season Chat

Tony d'Alberto, dropped out of the main TCR race over the weekend.

Because he didn't agree with a Stewards decision, he spat his dummy and chucked his toys out of the pram.

He made claims, on TV, about unprofessional conduct.

Well, it is Tony who was unprofessional.

Honda pay a lot of money in sponsorship and access to the latest version of their TCR.

Wall Racing owner and staff put a lot of effort into preparing the car which is a proven winner.

Without agreement from them he made a selfish decision that they did not agree with and chucked away championship points and possibly a race win.

Now, it is not up to me, but I believe that Honda would be within their rights to tear up his contact, if Tony hasn't already done so.

Similarly Wall Racing, with Honda support, if possible, should replace Tony with a dr4iver who actually wants to race.

IMHO, Clay Richards, who already has points and is running event by event subject to finding finance, would be an ideal replacement and he already has a bag of championship points.

There must be well over 20, possibly 30, TCR cars in Australia. MPC has a bunch of Audis available.

However, TCR is generally a sponsor driven class with car run by commercial enterprises. Effectively it consists of pay drivers and sponsors that seem wary of supporting it. Poor broadcast availability to the public last year could be leading to decisions that is poor value.

(ditto for S5000).

I think it is a real shame that this happens to Betty K who has put so much into racing even before she entered Supercars.

On the other hand, one way to achieve parity is to have top drivers leave the category.

I cannot agree more that I am sick of all the parity talk.

It seems to me that 888 Engineering, with GM assistance built a car with a well credentialed engine, built by a racing engine specialist and it works.

Ford was very slow to see deficiencies in their product.

Having identified that the Mustang had performance issues, they should have used their many resources and used the Camaro performance as a baseline and improved the Mustang. It is easy to blame Supercars management instead of taking responsibly for one's own product input.

This is largely what was done to the body at Windshear.

Rob Herod builds excellent engines, but perhaps lacks the racing performance know-how which Ford could have provided.

If WAU hadn't had a pit stuff up, then I have no doubt that Mostert would have led the race and won on Sunday.

Similarly, Waters did not perform on either day and was a back marker already when he had the wheel mishap.

After all, Tickford's number 2 driver got a top 4 finish. Two Mustangs and two Camaros in the top 4.

Personally, I have been distressed that the Mustang was not up to scratch.

Also, there is no parity with drivers and there are only a handful that consistently place in the top five.

One example is Erebus that performed extremely well with A class drivers, yet have only B class drivers this year.

Not me! I have consigned him to the big bin of former Prime Ministers and wish these "Yesterday's Men" would all shut up.

But I just postal voted for our Council Election and there is a State Election later this year. It is an interesting one with a number of Cabinet Ministers retiring, and the former Premier was given the flick (allegedly, due to poor poling numbers).

P.S. Trevor's Wanker has the job.

I really hope for your sake that that wanker Deputy doesn't get the job

To top it off, Albo has stated that there will not be an early Federal election, so there probably will be.

looking at 2025 with DJR seemingly having a young driver appointed, Will Anton's timing pay out at the end of 2024?
