Quote from: Bloopy on April 23, 2024, 02:32:59 PMBoth decent races, but you won't see much talk from me about it on the day. I'm still glad I don't inconvenience myself by watching live any more. Must be about time they found a deal allowing AU & NZ to use Superview.

The amount of effort Brown put in to pass Feeney cleanly was impressive, and he did it in true Brown style and got a little loose.

Andre on Sat in the wet and Will on Sun in the dry were the 2 weekend highlights for me.

AND proof that you don't need to hit the leader up the clacker to get past them. (yes there were some bumper to bumper contacts but nothing that put Broc off his own game)

Series is already quarter way through (though you wouldn't really know it) and Will is starting to pull away some... but there are 3 Mustangs in the top 5... how many would there be and how much higher would they be if.... I reckon Moz and Payne would be at least up to 2/3!

wow. no talk at all about today?

didn't get to watch any of it but saw that Anton took home the cookies with the JR trophy. nice for DJR to have a good weekend.

watched some of the early supports. the FFord race was a ripper. and I did see the fight a few laps from the end of the 2 Bulls. that was entertaining.

nothing else worth talking about?

Quote from: stevo qld on April 15, 2024, 10:04:40 PMA little whimsy.

Jamie Whincup would like to run additional Wildcards events but isn't allowed to.

I wonder if 888 could lease the car, the driver, the crew and sponsor to PremiAir (e.g.) for an extra race meeting.

QuoteSpeaking at the launch, T8 managing director Whincup admitted that he'd happily see the programme extend to even more rounds, however his understanding if that it's not allowed under the current Teams Racing Charter.

"The TRC states that we can only do a maximum three, so we're doing the maximum," he told Speedcafe.

"We'd love to do a fourth and fifth given the opportunity, but the rules don't allow it at this stage.

https://speedcafe.com/triple-eight-would-expand-wildcard-programme-if-allowed/

that could be a cool way to short-circuit the small field. have 4 teams link up and then you have an extra car on the grid for a full year.

The GT4s put on a great show at the Island. Lots of good talk on the fenceline about both them and the GT3 class.

really was disappointing as far as the blues go... sadly nobody to blame but their own friendly (or unfriendly) fire that took them out of contention.

the Chevs may have taken the bikkies home but it really was Fords doing that made it happen that way

Quote from: Trevor on March 20, 2024, 05:02:17 AMso the F1 bosses are waking up to Supercars hahahahahaha

and @LG, there should be no surprise in that

For years and years Supercars has raped and pillaged their way across Australia and beyond, now it is their turn to be screwed

Screwed by the bigger fish. F1 do the same, this is no different, but that's the show everyone goes to see.

Exactly.

but is the fish as big as it is telling itself that it is?

Quote from: Trevor on March 18, 2024, 05:02:54 PMso, which Chev is gonna win this weekend, does anyone care?

just love for a blue oval to win for the hell of it so we can come back to this post on Monday... :P

but no, don't particularly care. might watch some of it. apparently there is an F1 race there also (which I also have little interest in... crazy for someone who goes to so many motorsport events!)

the stupidity of the year rolls on...

https://www.supercars.com/news/new-date-for-2024-penrite-oil-sandown-500?fbclid=IwAR3h56-U5ZmWpwtB7OgbZhwGcRaS1Cy1-Fb6cgFwSlePlbLUuuy0aIx7TRU

Sandown date now changed and a ton of pissed off people who had booked/paid for holidays and are now out of pocket and can't get to the event at all...

I am among them... first VicState had to change their date to not clash with the now non-existant event (good work VicState)... as much as it sucked for them it was good for motorsport in Vic as it meant that all the clashes sorted themselves out... the 500 moving a week has now created another clash...

great work by all involved... NOT!

Quote from: muz on March 11, 2024, 10:50:57 PMThe exodus continues: https://speedcafe.com/kiely-to-depart-erebus-motorsport/

:'( starting to really wonder where it will all end?

they lose their '2nd' driver to 888
they lose their '1st' driver to an undisclosed internal conflict
they lose their major sponsor
they lose 2 further sponsors
they lose their 'media face/managing director'

all in the space of a few months.

starting to make Krakatoa look like it was just a little ripple in the ocean!
