What about the one with the droplets all over it? Was it Gatorade?

Surprised nobody threw this one in the mix!

I always used to enjoy when they raced at the airport (been so long I can't recall where it was) but watching them all spread out with the monstrous runways to choose their own lines was pretty cool

Would be interesting to know their criteria before commenting. A few names for sure deserve to be there. And some deserve to be higher... and some lower.

All just depends on what you find of value in a driver.

For myself, an obvious one is that at a minimum, p1 and p2 should be swapped. Having done 3 less races and still doubled the laps led of EVERY other driver in F1 does not put you below any of the other F1 competitors.

Oscar should be much higher than 23.

Lando did a great job but I think p3 is too high.

Giz @ 16, not a bad effort for driving in a small domestic series.

turn left at p35

also quite a few names in there that I'm not familiar with and would have to see who they are and their 'claim to fame'

I'm not surprised, and it's not the first time Hamilton has been ripped off. In 2007 several cars were found to have illegal fuel temps in the final race. Had they been disqualified, Hamilton would have won the title. But, once the chequered flag falls at the end of a year, nothing is ever going to change the results.

every driver has had race control make calls in their favour and against. and every driver at some point makes or breaks another driver's season.

absolutely the race was LH's and he should have won, but he wasn't even close to being champion for the year when you consider all that has gone on.

consider that Max led more laps over the season than every other driver combined and that includes being taken out of two races on lap one by the Merc drivers as well as the 3rd incident between MV/LH where neither finished. and if you removed the points from the farce of the rained out "race" and give Lewis the benefit of the win at the 2 where Max was taken out and give Max 2nd the championship still would have been over before Abu Dhabi, Max was simply that dominant.

he won the most races over the season. yes, LH came home stronger but a few wins does not make you a champion. 10vs8 wins to Max, 10vs5 poles to Max, 652 laps led by Max!!!

Max is the correct champion for F1 2021

I agree with everything you say. I don't think anyone on here (including me) has said Max doesn't deserve it. His results speak for themselves, he IS a deserving Champion. Whoever won it deserved it.
It's just the way those final laps played out were all wrong.

no disagreement on the final laps.

made for great tv but not how you want the 'premier motor racing category' to be viewed.

can believe that if it had happened in reverse Merc would be clinging onto that trophy and the number 1 and tough luck to Max/RedBull.

Phil, I have tried to track down Barjarg, but can't find it, I know where it should be, it is actually on the side of a hill.  It was dirt from memory so probably just gone back to nature

I had heard that too Trev, never gone looking for it myself. Perhaps some of the old Winton folk might remember?

My eyes aren't so good and I can't read your small writing.... just thought, is Barjarg there? Winton's predecessor?

seems there have been a reasonable amount of incidents again though at this event which have required barrier repair/red flags...

not how you want a title decider to happen (if one of them gets a free kick changing tyres under red flag) but it is certainly a possibility

nice to be 'reserve' driver... but it also means he is without a seat in reality which I don't get :( if all he is doing is cutting laps for Alpine what happens to the bloke's racecraft that made him so desirable in the first place? and out of the public eye will the next F2 winner just walk into the next open seat?

Phillip Island? The Bend? I agree more cars would be good at Bathurst. How many pit bays are there? I remember when they lined up around Murray's corner  ;D

don't recall how many pit bays there are... 40?.. but they still line up around the corner in the 6 hour every event.

enough that if they decided to do a full grid they could is the answer, they just don't want to.

and as for "we don't have enough drivers" I call bs on that, we have plenty good enough... they just don't have the funding and so they sit on the sidelines...

consider that they flew Mies in to drive in the TCR and GT event at Bathurst last week while the guy who co-drove with him and helped him get the Aus title was sitting around and could have equally done the job but he has no backing :(

if things go right 'maybe' Tassie round for me

other than that just Winton, Sandown and Bathurst are the likely ones. very unlikely to go to the GP
