LOL! Opposed to having the Mustangs pegged back all this year? Poor Brodie or Shane, should they win this year. Better not mention it next season, yeah?

Debris debris debris was nothing to do with parity, it was an infamous team decision that negatively affected the race result.

Quote from: Trevor on October 09, 2023, 06:01:01 AMWith all the '60 year' celebrations going on, did anyone notice the lack of talk of Mclaughlin?  There was a piece on all the best pasts of the last 60, but nothing about McLaughlin - Penske obviously upset Skaife on the way out

To be fair, he only won one race there. He's a fair bit down the Bathurst pecking order.

His 2017 top ten got a bit of a mention though, and deservedly so

Was cool seeing the Castrol VP going around!

Seemed like a good move at the time for Anton - Ludo, the homologation team and maybe Penske?
Looking back at the timeline, Penske announced his departure in October 2020, just 1 month later in November, Anton is confirmed as the replacement driver in #17.
That could have been some writing on the wall?
Either way, Anton is still there following some contract extensions so must be somewhat happy.

Quote from: Sonic on October 08, 2023, 01:08:33 PMthat penalty for DR was a joke. one car coming out of the pits under acceleration... one car coming off t1 at full noise to catch the train...

not arguing that DR was behind at the line, the vision shows that clearly... but it should have been a straight forward "drop back 1 spot" instruction from race control before the restart.

very poor form there I think.
I fully agree. But it is quite likely both drivers would have known who was in front. And DR kept going. If it was the finish line, the driver would have a pretty good idea if they were first over or not.

Jeez, I was worried by Simona for a second, being parked on the track perpendicular.

26 is in now for PLP.

Quote from: muz on October 03, 2023, 04:09:06 AMI think Matt Payne and Kevin Estre are the Smokey for first Ford home.

No real buzz about them, good team and Payne was super solid last year and at Sandown.

Others will throw it away trying too hard to bring the Ford to the front.
This is Bathurst and for Estre he will get tripped up by the track. Expect to see him in the wall at some point.

Fords best chances are #5 or #26.
Chev - #9, #97 or #99. 88 will have some weird occurrence with Whincup at the wheel preventing the win.

Honestly I think #26 will win it.
There we go, Estre caught out. Welcome to Bathurst  ;D

Quote from: murph_fan51 on October 07, 2023, 04:40:33 PMAll a media beat up this.

Ford may walk, but the Ford Mustang will continue to race. Much like the FGX continued on after Ford walked away last time.
The difference will be Ford will revoke their IP as well meaning that the series wont be legally allowed to run anything remotely close to a Mustang or any other Ford product
Would be a poor business decision from Ford. They may as well get free advertising by letting the Mustang continue to race and not have a pay a cent. It would be giving all the Ford teams a shafting too. Won't happen.

Unfortunately Matt Payne qualified 8th. No one has ever won the Great Race from 8th  :-\

Chad is bloody good, and should replace one of the current commentators.

I guess you won't be watching the racing this weekend then?  :-\

Repco Supercars Championship / Re: Burgess done for DUI
September 30, 2023, 03:02:16 PM
Careless error by AB.

I'm sure he would have lost his job already by now considering it occurred 11th August so I think he's safe? Guess we'll find out...

https://www.supercars.com/news/supercars-completes-gen3-vcat

Ford, DJ himself or Fords homologation team were happy with VCAT testing last year. There were no comments at that time about requiring Gen3 to test in a wind tunnel?
