Absolutely amazing it is.  I have to agree with all above in the thinking that no matter what started this, when the sponsors start leaving there is a serious problem at the root.

And yes, I wonder if Coca-Cola will stick around in the sport now.

Quote from: Bloopy on February 05, 2024, 09:51:58 PMLatest believable explanation I saw was that working for the team was too toxic. Though I'd kinda have to be in the team to even imagine it. Must be a really extreme case with bullying and so on, given you kinda expect motor racing to be a high pressure environment with people working long hours and tempers fraying etc. Drivers also have the luxury of that buffer where they don't normally even interact with anyone other than their engineer while they're doing their most important work.

Roland seems to think it's a toxic workplace issue

Roland, being somewhat close to Brodie, would surely have the go ahead to confirm it's not a mental issue.
And I'd also suggest it isn't a 'bending of the rules' otherwise he wouldn't go ahead with the above.

The most insightful article on the Kostecki-gate yet.

...and on bending the rules, talking to a few of the Dunlop tyre guys about 10ish years ago. They had some great stories on a few grey areas (and extremely smart, Penske-eqsue) 888 were operating in.

I think it's more than cheeky. It's a bit of a dick move no? Sticking it to Kostecki and being Bull headed.

Last year I loved the Erebus story and wanted them to win. Now it is such a sour taste seeing all this unfold.

No different when DJR had a large 1 on 17 and 18. Not long later Supercars made them change it. They are the champion team so deserve some recognition. However it won't stay.

QuoteBrodie should be on the grid as soon as possible. If that means a change of team, then make that happen. It's happened in other categories over the years at short notice. There are tools at Supercars' disposal that they can use. Have the guts to use them if necessary and ensure that the best interests of the sport as a whole are upheld.

Rolands's suggestion that Brodie should be on the grid might be a good one, however, in a 24-car field, who would get the axe for him to take over?

Supercars could, even if only for one year, allocate the 25th license. But then they have to find a competitive and willing team to run an additional car plus sponsors that don't clash with the main team cars.

Thanks Trev, but it didn't really offer any insights into anything.
I know, I saw him commenting on the culture, I can't seem to find anything about it now.  I said to my wife at the time that there will be **** over his comment, and no I can't find it.  It was at the same interview, he was beside the 888 car

Wasn't allowed then, yet Erebus repeat the mistake. Beside DJR's gaff was a play on numbers. Not outright misrepresentation.

And yet, WAU get away with big "1"'s on the bonnet.

Perhaps Erebus could introduce a product such as Erebus Clothing 1 and put it on the bonnet.

What is wrong with the No 1 on the Erubus car.  Currently they still are the championship winning team, BK is still contracted to them, at least till we hear different officially.
