Roland's thoughts are probably the sanest I've ever seen from him.
I know this will annoy someone but toxic workplace equals Barry Ryan.
He's running the show. Betty is hardly there.

QuoteBrodie should be on the grid as soon as possible. If that means a change of team, then make that happen. It's happened in other categories over the years at short notice. There are tools at Supercars' disposal that they can use. Have the guts to use them if necessary and ensure that the best interests of the sport as a whole are upheld.

Rolands's suggestion that Brodie should be on the grid might be a good one, however, in a 24-car field, who would get the axe for him to take over?

Supercars could, even if only for one year, allocate the 25th license. But then they have to find a competitive and willing team to run an additional car plus sponsors that don't clash with the main team cars.

who would run the car? might I suggest that 888 would put their hand up to run a 3rd car and have the number 1 in their stable for the year...

It is subtle. I think that's what RD wants to happen. Problem is Supercars would have to release a REC and would show favouritism to 888.

Quote from: murph_fan51 on February 06, 2024, 03:48:40 PMNo different when DJR had a large 1 on 17 and 18. Not long later Supercars made them change it. They are the champion team so deserve some recognition. However it won't stay.

Wasn't allowed then, yet Erebus repeat the mistake. Beside DJR's gaff was a play on numbers. Not outright misrepresentation.
What is wrong with the No 1 on the Erubus car.  Currently they still are the championship winning team, BK is still contracted to them, at least till we hear different officially.
The number is for the winning driver. Not the team.

perhaps the 'get out' for them in this instance is that it is not an official race event and it is 'currently' Brodie's car being driven by someone else.

that will of course change come the first event and they will have to use a different number then

There's rumours that Xiberras is gonna give Slade the axe and run Brodie at Premiair

Of course the other rumour is a third Triple Eight car with Boost funding...

I hope that Supercars CEO Shane Howard doesn't get piles from sitting on that fence.

Supercars needs to sit on the fence. It's a driver and team dispute.

Agreed, Albert. It's a contractual dispute and clearly an NDA keeping Brodie from saying anything.
If Supercars start fiddling, then they potentially become engaged herein.

One could say that Supercars are partly responsible for the situation.
If they knew about the toxic conditions within Erebus and allowed it to continue then they are remiss with their WHS conditions.

Mechz

Funny to see all the comments on speedcafe saying Supercars should get them in a room to sort it out.

SC have zero authority in this situation.

Sorry LG but unless you can point to a clause in the agreement between SC & the teams saying they have power to resolve these things, then I doubt it exists.

The only power they would have is if the team or driver brought the sport into disrepute, and SC do that to themselves better than any team ever could.

Until there is anything official, BK is still the driver of the No1 Erebus Chev, so running No 1 today is OK.
