Quote from: Mechz on February 12, 2024, 01:24:50 AMWould love to hear what Larko thinks about all of this. No doubt he will be silenced by the producers before any cameras get switched on in a few weeks.

Also be funny to see Brodie sitting on the hill at Skyline with a Coke in hand for the first round.
It'd be even funnier if Betty was in the garage drinking a Pepsi.   :D

No one drinks that piss

IIRC Pepsi have more Championships and Bathurst wins than Coke, no?

It may have some merit as to what is going on.

There was a little story in this week's AA about Brodie changing management, so that little titbit may have some weight.

Also, I believe his former management was a friend of Norwell and Mr Boost, so if that alleged part may not go down very well with those people.

From what I've been reading his manager is one P Morris.

Maybe this is only a recent agreement though.

Up until this has all gone down, his manager has been a guy named Nathan Cayzer.

Jointly managed by Cayzer and Dude, like a fair few of the Norwell crew.

A betting man could do a lot worse than to put a lazy tenner on Aaron Love and Jaxon Evans on the TAB at 1001 to 1 to win the championship.

I find it interesting the way that punters rate teammates:

Brown over Feeney.
Davison over de Pasquale.

etc.

Jaxon Evans & Ryan Wood would be a better pick. Because they're both Kiwis.

But if you want to do worse, betting on Brodie would be the way to go. Unless a refund is provided for no starts for the season.

PremiAir pick up Coke sponsorship in Super2...
Coke/Kostecki at PremiAir in 2025?

Can PremiAir manage to get Brodie untangled from his Erebus contract?

I would love to see PremiAir use their spare car for a 2024 Wildcard at Bathurst with Coke Sponsorship with McLeod and number 1 on the car.

I guess they considered the missing Ludo factor for de Pasquale. I'd make Feeney the favourite though as he has the continuity and quite a Whincup-like measuredness to his driving already.

Crazy how far up they've put Hazelwood for a team in turmoil. Waters on the other hand ought to perform above his odds as surely the bad luck of 2023 was an anomaly.

At least they have relegated Lowndes to the supports. He's probably the biggest waste of TV money ever.

Now if we could just lock the main commentary door after Crompo, Chad & GT go in the year will be tolerable.

It's a shame that 'tolerable' is the benchmark.

I like Crompo in the box calling the race.
He needs a Leigh Diffey or even Matt White beside him, Chad Neylon might be the right guy too - someone impartial and without direct (Supercars) hands-on Motorsport history. Someone whos profession is 'commentary,' and can appeal moreso to the broad public.

Larko and GT in the pits are great. Lowndes has been a bit of a dud, not clinical enough.

Then the talking heads between each session and doing interviews could be your character type's, your Skaife/Ingall/Murphy/Ambrose - literally the V8 SuperStars cast. Even a Fabian Coulthard or Michael Caruso would be good IMO.
They can give both mechanical and driver insight, along with some banter. Talking the hypothetical stuff.
Courtney and Reynolds may fill this role, if they add a touch of seriousness to their work.

I think Jack Perkins does a good job

I didn't mention Skaife, but he has the announcing style of cricket and football commentators.

A good part of a race commentary is taken up by events last century.

I sum it up as:

Yes but now we have the option to listen to Matt White on SEN, just mute the telly and put captions on if you don't want to miss their input.
