saw a pic of Fisher's car on fb earlier in the day... said no brakes at t2 and car is out for the weekend.

a shame... a long way to go for part of one practice session.

One oddity I picked up on watching the highlights (lowlights) of Stanaway crashing just prior to the Dipper in practice were the graphics of the drivers.  In the 12 Hours, some of the drivers' names were shortened by the graphics.  Both van der Lindes were just "Linde".  Jack LeBrocq was just "Brocq".  Now I noticed he is still "Brocq" and de Pasquale is just "Pasquale".

Makes you shake your head.  SVG would now be just "Gisbergen".  What the heck is up with that?  Are any Macca commercials going to be "Donald's"?

Is there going to be issues over the cars who set their best laps whilst Payne was in the sand? Mostert, Reynolds at least?

usually as long as they don't go purple it's ignored.

Sonic

10 cars(?) S2 pileup at the cutting...

race red flagged and non-event.

anyone with slo-mo... were they 4 wide in the last part of the crash trying to get through?? that was nuts!!

Don't know why ypu'd bother going. It's just more of the same disparity that we had to suffer last year.

Crompo was up the mountain Friday arvo and it looked like maybe half a dozen groups from Metal Grate to Skyline.

Sonic

only had it on in the background here while I was editing pics.

nothing of the race today really sparked me to stop what I was doing and watch with intent.

Camaro and Mustang on the podium is a good start. Top 3 seemed equal pace from what I saw.

Updated live pitlane order has DJR second last!

Also worth noting that WAU end up 3rd last due to Wood's enormous bad luck

I went up for Sunday only.Crowd looked pretty similar to the 2021 opener at Bathurst.

My first thought was "Young bloke, cold tyres, f****** up," as Larry would put it.
Both times and was completely unlucky and on the receiving end. His pace is a big thumbs up though.

The 500 is a tough one to sell. Everyone knows and plans for the 1000, time off work etc.

I was pretty unhappy with the end of race 1. I think a local caution to allow the race to actually be a race to the end would have been much better.

Double waved would've easily done the job. It's one line through there at the best of times, and Love was off it.
