Quote from: AlbertM on July 09, 2023, 11:11:15 AMI can't talk about a drivers actual experience and achievement? OK, lets use your logic.  SVG is 4th in the championship. He's washed up, past his best. Feeny doesn't have championship but won a couple of races. Clearly not good enough for 888 in 2024.

Now you've moved your goal post on Mostert and Waters. Now it's not about their age or talent. It's because of some future commitments you pulled out of your ass. But don't dare bring up what actually happened in 2022.

I thought I was biased.  8)

This is about a replacement for SVG, not a driver's ability contest.

Practice what you preach.

On the other hand. How can you discuss SVG's replacement while not acknowledging their ability to drive a Supercar?

I really hope Cam says with Ford.. Not going to leave much talent on the Ford side if he goes..

Basically leaves Chaz if DJR continue the routine plummet to another buyout

Rumor has it he is to stay at Tickford.

Didn't ADP in a DJR machine just win a race?

Doesn't mean much when even MSR can win a race

AlbertM

No one is talking about an MSR driver taking SVG's seat though.

No one knows that, perhaps Jamie may see something we don't. Wasn't Jack hot property once upon a time? He has won 2 solo races now also which is more then most on the grid.

In all honesty though I think the new Triple 8 will throw a young fella in the car if SVG disappears.

By your own admission, doesn't mean much.

Singapore looking likely:

My sense is that F1 must be paying Supercars to go? How would it make sense financially otherwise?
Seems the races would be held during the day, so hopefully not 8 lap demonstrations ala the AGP.

I don't mind the idea of racing in Singapore, but there's plenty that needs to be done on our shores before looking at that. It just must stack up money-wise.

From what I read, it is funded by the Singapore promoters, and they will fund the air travel as well as pay an appearance fee.

I believe this was also the case in the past offshore races. It was the only time it didn't cost the teams to attend a race weekend.

I don't really agree with it as a priority for the series but if it happens I'd be really considering heading to the Singapore GP and I've never been before so there's certainly some appeal to it.

Even though Van Gisbergen thinks it's a dumb idea and isn't enjoying his car, I could see him being keen to stay in 2024 just for the opportunity to race the circuit in a Supercar.

Ryan Wood - could we see him in the #2 next year? Perdog to become an enduro only driver.

Sleuth is suggesting either Wood or Coulthard!
Dare say after his past few seasons, Percat would be looking at a top line enduro gig.

Reynolds maybe on the move too? Do Penrite follow him to Team18? Surely?
