With all the 2022 season locked in, there's already talk about 2023.

Richie Stanaways name has resurfaced for Gen 3 in an Adderton owned and run Boost team:

Interesting that Adderton posts a Mustang mock up and then says he would use Erebus built cars.  Has he let a cat out of the bag or was the Mustang mock up just a generalisation ?

Boost Mobile owner Peter Adderton, who has been a staunch supporter of Stanaway's, recently posted a render of a Ford Mustang with the New Zealander's name attached to it to Instagram.

Adderton has out and out declared his intention to start a Supercars team under the Gen3 regulations using Erebus Motorsport-built cars should he acquire the necessary Teams Racing Charters.

With only one parked up licence available and no expansion plans stated by supercars, its a possibility i suppose.
Maybe he is planning on taking over the erebus from Baz and Betty.
Who else wants out and would sell to him.
Lot of speculation and what ifs in that story.
Wouldn't bet the house on it

Anything, is for sale if the price is right.

It might be a good time to cut back from 4 cars to two, or just take the money and run, particularly if the owners are aging. Well, technically they are all aging, but some are reaching retirement age or past it.

Take the money and go racing in a cheaper class is am option too.

I was inferring has he let the cat out of the bag in that Erebus will be using Gen3 Mustangs in 2023 hence the Mustang mock up and not a Camaro so he will be purchasing Gen3 Mustangs from them if he comes in.

Keep in mind Erebus previously did say they would run Camaros for Gen3. Anything can change though.

Maybe the Camaro might not be economic way to go.  It is a well known fact that at this stage the Camaro will be dropped by GM in 2024.  So the Camaro as a racecar might be around for 2, possibly 3 years.  So whats around after that, at least the Mustang, as a consumer available vehicle, will be around for years to come.

The Commodore and Falcon well outlasted their status as an available vehicle so I don't think the Camaro Supercar will be going anywhere in the next ~5 years.

Camaro sales are low and unlikely to continue long.

However, the petrol engined Mustang sales are getting worse and the Aussie/RHD model may be the first to get the chop.

We could end up with two non-relevant Supercar models.

Clearly, for Supercars to be relevant, they should race something that is popular with the Australian new vehicle buying public.
That is light trucks or small sedan/hatchbacks, but TCR has one sown up and light trucks are struggling for competitor numbers.

Maybe Ford should adopt the body from the Mustang Mach e for it's 2023 Gen 3 Supercar, in anticipation of the future electric Supercar era that has been foreshadowed in Gen 3.

Unless you include Mach-E sales.
Another dynasty in vehicle sales for North America comes to an end. We already learned about Toyota passing GM for the top spot in the States. Now, after many years as the pony car champion, the Ford Mustang is dethroned in 2021 by the Dodge Challenger and its 14-year-old bones. That is, unless you include Mach-E sales in Mustang's total, which Ford does and doesn't do. More on that in a bit.

Here is a Mustang Police Car. (hark back to Dickies Tru Blu  which was a police car)

I see plenty of Mustangs on the road these days

Listening to the Castrol Motorsport podcast, they make mention that Davo is off contract. Apparently Barry Ryan might be getting a little nervous that one of his could be on their way to DJR.

Frosty is also off contract, but with all this Gen3 testing he's doing you'd think he'd have a run next year?
And obviously Payne is in the hot seat to take one of the Grove cars.

That's pretty exciting- how good would Brown go at DJR!!! :)

SetonFan

DJR signing Brown would be a no-brainer - would be harsh on Will as he's still a solid option but need to look to the future.

Maybe sign Davo on as mentor and co- driver for a few years....would be a smart play...
