DJR have a spare car now that they aren't doing a wildcard.

888 have 4 cars, 2 for 888, 1 for 888 wildcard and another due to be sold and used as a privateer wildcard.

Unless 888 have a fifth car, another Chev team's car will be needed.

The RACE prototypes would need a LOT of upgrades to current rules. TQ's car would need updating.

Maybe they will delay it 'til after Bathurst.

do they need a full car for this test or just send 2 engines?

I would have thought so, but I read in one of the fish wrapper daily papers that they would be sending cars.

My bad, I reckon.

I'd think that DJR Engines and KRE would have their teams pretty involved.
They won't need any chassis' to wrap around them.

Lets just hope that the transient dyno test can get done asap & any changes (if needed) can be done before Bathurst so the Mustangs can be competitive.

Unless the transient dyno test reveals that following recent work, the Ford engine is now superior to the Chev. But either way I guess the Mustang will be competitive.

Might be time to move on from their own car designs and create a series based on NASCAR designs and rules. Their cars on our circuits would be magical to watch and will create actual racing.

I am also disappointed at the small grids of other interesting classes such as TCM. The Porsches seem to have plenty but are boring. V8 Utes need more cars.

Perhaps Supercars could open Supercar events by guaranteeing starts to the 24 franchise holders, then allow any number of regulations complying cars up to the track capacity, subject to qualifying and the 10% qualifying margin.

There are more Supercars out there with owners just begging for race starts.

If Supercars won't let them run in Supercar events, then they should allow them to run in other classes such as sports sedans.

NASCAR and supercars are the same premise. Both are purpose built race cars with faux bodies. Both run to a specific set of regulation so that one does not have an advantage over the other. Both used controlled components.  The hardware is not an issue.

Supercars is sports entertainment. A travelling circus. It is no longer the club competition where you pay your dues and you can race. Supercars and the chartered teams will certainly not appreciate the potential for a blow in to up stage them and their sponsors. There is only so much of the pie to slice. Then there is the logistics of adding more car to the grid. Like the type of race cars, the grid size isn't the issue.

The issues are the need for more events and viewing access to events. 12 rounds with some times less than 3 hours of racing over 2 days and 2 min highlight reels on youtube is not enough to maintain interest.

Didn't anybody learn after Icebox-gate?  :)  Burgess was running a pretty loose ship, by the sounds of it.

You may find that it was not just the ice box issue, a certain team may have had something that blew everyone else away
