Ok ill buy into this Gen 3 discussion. I understand there has been allot of work go into getting the Gen 3 cars built & tested but it is a bit disappointing that it is taking so long to get parity between the Camaro & Mustang.
But on the other hand it is encouraging that they are working towards getting the parity issue sorted.
On the other hand the 5 kg weight that was added to the Camaro seemed a bit soft, I just hope it doesnt take the whole season to get it sorted.

The weight has not been added. It is simply ballast relocated higher at the back. No change to overall weight.

The weight wasn't added. It was relocated.

Supercars have stipulated that applications for a parity review must wait 28 days.  Ford revised engine map from Newcastle was only approved just prior to Perth. Ford (reportedly) has another engine map submission as a result of the AGP. But must wait 28 days...

They seem pretty close, but agree the Mustang needs a little more..

Lap time were consistent with tyre degradation. Overall, Mustangs were 1-2 tenth off the Camaros pace though.

Supercars know the issues, yet introduced rules to drag out their resolution.

It was done based on a physical test - I would say that's the exact amount needed. It seems the problems are elsewhere.
To be fair to Supercars and the parity process, to be 5kg COG off at the start is pretty good. It should've been done pre-season (along with min. weight mandate), however they were pretty close. The parity process in this regard works pretty well.

The CoG was very close compared with 2019, it would have been only 1.8kg if the ballast had been placed in the roof like the ZB and Mustang.

CoG should be spot on now.

They need to sort the torque/acceleration difference in the mustang as it climbs through the higher gears

Correct. The parity process is miles better this time round.

What a kick in the nuts to all those saying Supercars are working hard to achieve parity.

Kick in the nuts for Ford. Unstable camshafts. Engines have the same power. Up to Ford to work out how to get the engine to function when gears changed. How many years have Ford had ?

This is a fair comment:

Given the engines are meant to be identical under the Gen3 guise, it should be transparent. Each engine builder can then analyse and keep each other honest.
This would also build a good platform for other potential makes to feel level if they wanted to invest in the series.

Only issue with this is that it effectively halts any potential engine development - as per previous Generations of Supercars. However it seems Gen3 wants a parity engine anyway?

Supercars tuned these engines. Ford can't change anything unless Supercars allows it. If Supercars is not interested in helping with data as Edwards is suggesting, it makes it very hard for Ford to find an answer.

Forced to agree.

In Gen 3 development is irrelevant. Supercars is on borrowed time. The cars they are racing have no future.
