Three time champ in '76, '77, and '78 driving for Junior Johnson.

One of the drivers involved in "The Fight" at the end of the 1979 Daytona 500 which was broadcast for the first time flag-to-flag on network television.  Many will claim that he, Bobby Allison, and Donnie Allison put NASCAR on the map that day.
