Triple 8 had Ludo on song, as did Roger

After 1 round and with no Triple 8 or Roger and his contacts to help Ludo and his engineering squad look very bloody good, is this the year that shows he was riding someone else's high or perhaps he is just on his way down, much like a driver as they age.

Going to be interesting to see how this year unfolds as the last year Ludo and his cars dominated everything they had Scotty Mc and Rogers booksmarts leading the charge.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking Ludo kicked your dog.

I'm thinking Ludo kicked your dog.

So what if he did.

I reckon the team around him building new cars is what makes him so good, how many all new builds has he gone through now?

2013 - Come out flying getting Triple 8 a championship 1-2
2018 - come out flying getting Penske the championship victory  and car clipped back to an even footing.
2023 with no Penske and no Triple 8 has seen a disastrous start to the season when even Tickford came out fighting.

Don't get me wrong, the bloke has achieved some big things but DJR seem to be slowly slipping back to a lower budget team, this leads to fewer resources, lower quality personnel around you etc, etc. But I could be wrong, Ludo could be the gun he has displayed but has not got the driver quality to show his talent.

Maybe that's why he hit Triple 8 up for a return gig.

Comparing the results of 2013 and 2018 to 1 round of 2023.   Seem legit...

You've clearly got an axe to grind with DJR.

Not sure why you'd be questioning the pedigree of someone with an achievement list as long as his.

This looks more accurate.

Would Ludo ever return to 888 or are they set with Jeremy is the question?

I also think the significant reduction in aero where he's a genius has reduced the advantage he had over the rest of the field with Gen 3

Not really, better resource and probably drivers are needed though if they are going to be consistent contenders though.

I don't think Ludo has the budget or team around him if he still has the skill he appeared to yesteryear

Still debatable if he is as good as you say. Without big names around him, he does **** all

You're the muppet putting him up on a pedestal only to knock him down. Dumbass!

It's always about more than a single individual. There's always room for individual excellence, but there's no "I" in team, as the old chestnut states.

Ludo is a clever racing brain, but so are/were Harry Firth, John Sheppard, Neal Lowe, Frank Gardner, Pat Purcell, Jim Stone, Larry Perkins, Les Small, Geoff Grech, Mark Dutton, Jeromy Moore, Campbell Little, Crusty Holloway et al... all had truly great moments, and their share of less-stellar ones too... and they didn't do it alone. A group of people all standing around looking to one messianistic figure to lead them to the Promised Land, or Victory Lane or whatnot, hasn't been all that historically successful... so who's who in the DJR zoo these days?

Is it just Ludo and a busload of Jawas?
