TA2 cars in Australia?

It seems that almost every week, we are treated to stories about new TA2 cars.

Some owners are getting a second car and putting a driver into the old.

One team is expanding from three to five cars.

A number of driers who have been racing other peoples cars now are getting their own.

It makes me wonder if we now have 80 to 100 cars in the various Australian series that run TA2 cars. Way back in July 2020 they had 50 cars, but that may have been for one series. I don't know.

compared to what else is available is there really a better category 'bang for buck' out there?

Discussions are underway with American Trans Am drivers to compete in the inaugural Supercheap Auto Bathurst International in November.

Strong interest from a number of leading competitors from the Trans Am racing's homeland has been shown in entering the 'Trans Am 100' around the famous Mount Panorama Circuit.

The Supercheap Auto Bathurst International will showcase the best global motorsport, including racing championships like TCR, S5000, GT sports cars, Touring Car Masters and one-make Porsche competition.

Trans Am is one of the most popular racing series in the USA, including TA1 and TA2 competitions across the country.

More than 40 entries contest races at America's best circuits including Sebring, Road Atlanta and Laguna Seca, just to name a few.

Now, the Americans are showing interest in adding Mount Panorama to their list of competition, to race in the four-race event, including a 100km finale on Sunday.

Having seen them a few times now, they look the part, they sound the part, they go alright, don't mind leaning onto each other and seem reliable unlike some classes out there.
