Well done to Lewis. I had a twinkle in my eye on Sunday night.
There was a very real chance he'd never get a win in red, and before Charles in the same time period too.

There's a fair bit of talk going on about challenging for his 8th... I don't see it to be honest.
Kimi was still a comfortable second, and Lewis was helped (not defining his win though) by the VSC. One hot day doesn't make a summer.

At the very least, it's great to see that Ferrari and at stages the McLaren can openly challenge the Merc.

Pretty clinical by George, and I'm not talking about the driving, but his knowledge of the rules.
It 100% gave him pole by knowing what was needed to be done under the single-yellow condition, compared to Kimi.
...that's that experience we've all be waiting for I guess.

Ferrari not as strong as everyone thought after one race win. Bring on Silverstone, a few poms will certainly be in the mix. Would be awesome to see Lewis take another.

I was actually ticked about the pole time Sman. "oh I lifted for 100 metres" seems to have satisfied officialdom but I think it's just more proof that drivers don't bother with the yellow flags...

Having said that, what a race! A shame that it didn't go on for another few laps. Max catching George and a rapid rate, Kimi catching Max... another lap or two the 3 of them would have been together! as it was under 2 seconds 1st to 3rd :)

Kimi still 40 points in the clear... but after watching Oscar last year we all know what that is worth...

interesting that LH is currently in 3rd for the year!

at present can't see anyone other than Kimi/George/Lewis being on the top step come year end. even Max is in 7th 98 points down on the leader!!

Yeah I don't agree with the rule itself either. But to Russell's credit, he followed what had been instructed to the T.

I'd go as far to say that Lewis isn't even within a shot. A bad day for Ferrari is 7-8th. A bad day for Merc is... 4-5th? I just think the Merc will be more consistent over the season. Not to say that Ferrari/McLaren and even RB might take some wins off them.

Fantastic to see Kimi win in Italy.
After that performance, the title is his. Yes the red flag and VSC/pit helped his cause, but George had the advantage at each of those moments and either he/the team didn't capitalise.

Interestingly Toto has suggested that Merc don't have any money in the spending cap for upgrades, whilst others like McLaren still do.

Here's hoping the make some changes to the Madring next year... that one wasn't worth staying up for!
