Prob the best spot for discussion of the 2025

Just home after work and have put on the youtube stream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcV71oinYDc)

Anybody out there watch it through the day? Or at the track?

Anything of interest happen today?

Plans to watch the full 12 hours on Sunday?

Very clean day today. A big engine blow-up in Combined Sedans qualifying and a couple of incidents in the Ferrari Challenge race, but nothing I saw in the 12 Hour sessions.

Bit disappointing to have only two support categories with five races between them for the weekend.

The Genesis that Jacky Ickx is demonstrating is pretty cool and Tony Quinn's Vulcan sounds incredible.

yeah I have heard some disappointment from others also about the wasted track time for the SC laps and the demo laps which could have been another category.

the SC times are nothing more than a waste of track, the demos... well I guess they would be paying for the time they get so, even though I don't appreciate it, I get that they paid for the privilege.

feel sorry for the flaggies :'( they have to be on point so early already and, using today for an example, they were prob on point by 630... SC (nothing) so first event not til 7.50, then 50 mins dead track between P5&6, Ferrari qual finished at 1205, then an hour lunch break, then the day finishes at 420 but ride sessions and more SC means they don't get to leave post til 6pm.

unsung heroes... all for a pat on the back (sometimes) and maybe a ham sammich...

Far out hasn't Kenny Habul been in everything.
And I'd say most not his fault, mainly just lacking that clear "I'm going for it" that the main guys have.

I've said it before, and i'll say it again, instead of the 💩show that Supercars created with gen 3, this is what it should have become. Multiple makes, parity not an issue, you choose what car you think is going to be best for you and you go racing. Quicker than a supercar around Bathurst, big wings, look like a proper race car, lots of passing. Much better racing and a rule book, that on the surface appears to have no grey areas like supercars does.
If you don't like my comment, ignore it. If you don't know how to ignore it, message me and I will be only too happy to demonstrate how.

I would've agreed with you pre-Gen3 Madbugger.
Roland penned great article a while back on why GT3 isn't the way to go, especially from Australia.

As it's own spectacle, the 12hour and the GT3 regs are awesome.

One problem with GT3 is that generally this year's current model is superseded by a new improved model for the next year.

Also, the huge speed diversity between models does not aid attempts to artificially balance performance with Weight, engine restrictors, mandated different pit stop duration etc. etc.

As seen with TCR and previous attempts to run international classes, the European performance balancing attempts are not necessarily relevant to the cars and tracks in Australia.

Love thy neighbor as thyself but choose your neighborhood very carefully.

+1,000.
Not that Mostert would've got there anyway, it made any shortfall of fuel a 80sec penalty at the end.

Enjoyable race regardless, and was awesome seeing Rossi on the podium. He didn't look out of place out there.
