as far as 'stupid' goes, as I have noted before, I do wonder how many were votes 'for Trump' and how many were votes 'against the opposition'?

US politics is just big business and really has very little (I feel) for the 'common American'... all the Joe/Jane Bloggs are just struggling to survive and many going under while others just keep making their $$ and not giving a damn.

Stupid = Average Joe/Jane voting against their self interests. Low and middle workers voting for a billionaire that wants to sack them and take their social services away to give tax breaks to other billionaires. What makes it worse is that it was all laid out in Project 2025, and they still shot themselves in the foot.

Really, what is to be gained by turning the White House into a used car lot to prop up another billionaire? What happened to stopping wars, easing the cost of living pressure. Russia escalated in Ukraine, Trump wants to occupy Gaza for realestate, and he started a trade war with the world that will see prices rise for everyone, and more people out of work.

It may be news to Bernie Sanders and other overactive and disillusioned has-been Lefties that The Election is run and done.

Trump is President, like it or lump it. I am accepting Fact, so will no longer discuss the election that is run and done.

It is great to live in interesting times as I age and may not see the next big election.

Hollywood. a hotbed of privileged wealthy opinions, could not have produced this as a movie script.

Hollywood, in any case, turns out a lot of trash movies (IMHO) and then have award nights where they pat each other on the back, usually get pissed, and become political pundits.

I note media reports that a lot of movie millionaires and companies are leaving California.

Whatever happens, I retain keen interest and wait for the resolutions, whether in 2-year mid-term or 4-year elections.

PS: Australia is right to not retaliate. but Trump won't negotiate while that long-term well documented Trump Basher, Rudd-the-Dudd is still our ambassador.

One of the most entertaining thing about the MAGA mob, is seeing how oblivious they are to their own hypocrisy. And how they fall for what ever a convicted felon, grifter, sexual predator, con man, racist, and bigot says.

Really, you are going to give the left grief about the 2024 election. Trump denied his loss for 4 years. His mob stormed the Capitol where people were hurt, maimed and even died. All because the orange blob incited them to riot.

You talk about Hollywood vanity. Trump is one of the most vain people on the planet. If you don't bow down he will attack you.  He made fake magazine covers with himself on them. He claim achievements he had nothing to do with. Even claimed he invented the words like, groceries, fake, caravan, and the phrase, "prime the pump". He changed a weather map with a marker to try an cover his ass when he said the wrong thing instead of admitted he made a mistake.

Trump has installed his grossly unqualified billionaire mates and boot lickers to high positions in his administration. Sacked tens of thousands workers only to get them back because they found out they actually are required. Sacked FAA air traffic controllers on the basis of "DEI hires" but found out they were the best people for the job and begged retired controllers to come back to work.

He's tanked the stock market with his trade war. Incited even more conflict in Gaza and Ukraine. Wants to invade sovereign countries of Canada, Panama, and Greenland.

Australia can't really retaliate. We have spent too much on AUKUS. Trump is so unstable he is likely to cancel the deal and we lose the billions already sunk into it.

Stupid people are too stupid to know they are stupid.

I was just thinking how fiendishly clever and far sighted Australian Politicians, of both sides, are.

They have collectively managed to avoid the 25% USA tariff for imports of Australian build cars.
