Anyone tune in over the last few nights? Been entertaining.

Brown and Kostecki made it to the final in the Nations Cup, whilst Mostert has made the final in the individual races against Sebastian Loeb, after beating Vettel.

I didnt realise it was on the telly and just happened to be flicking channels last night.
I only saw the last race between Moz and Loeb.
Moz tried his guts out but Loeb was just too good in the end.
It was great to see a lot of the drivers in the stands really getting into it.

saw some. seemed to be a poorly attended event. the track was seriously dicky. the continual use of the drone cams made it unwatchable at times.

but from some reports I have seen from folk who attended they did enjoy it.

maybe it is designed to be a tv event thing?

I was watching it kinda in the background.  It was difficult to watch on TV, I only watched till the end to see how Chazzie went.

As a concept on paper it sounds great, in reality it didn't work for me, maybe live it would be better, but at times it seemed like someone in a wheelchair would be just as quick. Given the speeds the commentators were quoting, maybe live it would be a better spectacle.
If you don't like my comment, ignore it. If you don't know how to ignore it, message me and I will be only too happy to demonstrate how.

It was awesome live! The crowd wasn't huge but the atmosphere was really good, especially when the Aussies were getting up in close finishes.

I think also, for me, the car choices weren't always good... but perhaps that was part of it too...

for anyone who knows... what was with the 2nd person in the cars? chosen for weight balance so that all cars were the same?

the Polaris were shocking and I was just waiting to see them tip over

the rally cars obviously suited those used to that type of car which I thought was an unfair advantage when it should have been a level playing field. with the 'best of 3' it was easy enough to give 1 run each in your preferred car and 1 random that neither has experience in... but I would have loved to see it done better...

perhaps a little bigger playing field would have worked? that would allow a larger variety of cars in the mix... instead of just little play jiggers they could have had some horsepower monsters as well... maybe something electric... even chuck in a formula car (and that could be mixed up all the way from FVee to FFord to F5000, whatever)... but they could not work within the confines of the venue that they used.

would love to know the cost of setting it all up and laying the bitumen and creating the tunnel/jump and then removing it all?? was that released anywhere?

coz something like that could have been a win for motorsport, a win for a mates night out... if they built that at SMP (seeing's we are talking about a Syd event) then it becomes a permanent attraction... would have been able to make it an ongoing thing, available for challenges all year round for bragging rights... Joe who races FFord vs Jim who races IP vs Jane who races HQ vs Jill who races Radical... who is the better driver? let's have a night out and do it! :)

also could be used for nights when the 'big show' comes to town... challenge a Supercar driver...

if it was done in Vic I reckon Winton would have put their hand up in a second... don't know about the other states? but an Oz series of something like this could be pretty cool... run and won in a day...
