I must say, I did have a little look at entry fees for a potential entry. Cage up a prod car and away we go. Just keep an eye on the mirror.

It is a big field and the speed differences are massive.

Part of me thinks the weekend should expand to 4 days and run 2 x 6hr races. A 'lower' capacity race on Sat and a 'higher' capacity on Sun.

Really only 5 slow cars this weekend, the 4 Group E and the Camry (which I would argue shouldn't be out there at all). I think perhaps run a 10 year (max) from the build year as the cutoff.

I'm working for one of the Class E Mazdas and, last year, the winning car did a 2.24 against our 2.47.

So as long as you have your wits about you 23 seconds over a 6km course isn't that bad... however sharing the track with another 60 cars who also want to pass you means that from pretty much lap 3 you are driving in your mirrors the entire race and only get to 'maybe' enjoy a lap or two after a safety car.

I don't mind the older spec cars, as long as they hit safety requirements and under the cut off time to qualify.
Maybe the 130% rule needs to come down? The 2:22 that Davo set last year in Qualy meant that to participate you only needed to be a tickle over 3mins.

I've done it in a non turbo 2.8 diesel hilux 4x4.  speed wasn't an issue for me 😂😂

I try and attend the BLCC Speed Weekend and the NSW Hillclimb Championship rounds. Awesome fun.
Once you click through the kink pinned at about 220, nothing much tickles the heart rate.

Next up, the Flying 1/5th. My surname sat as the record holder for almost 30 years thanks to the addition of the Chase.

On the up side I missed NOTHING!  On the down side, my mind....
