Quote from: skaifeman on March 19, 2026, 10:20:07 PMFrom memory both Shippy and Cauchi left 888 at the same time as well, and at the time we were all saying they were leaving for more $$$ to be shuffled down the grid too.

Nothing new, Ship has now left winning teams 4(?) times: Prodrive after Bathurst, 888 after everything, WAU after Bathurst and now Grove after Bathurst.
I'm more interested in what role he has and if it's one of these weird overarching positions that'd feed data to all GM teams, with a bit of GT mixed in.

Regardless of why/how those two left. It's a loss to Grove.

The Matt Payne to Chevrolet rumors keep coming too. Another big loss for Grove if true.

I rate him highly, champion material...but is he THAT good?

His interview on 360 didn't give much of a poker face, at the very least he gave away that discussions are happening.

I have no doubt that Payne is the real deal. A definite top 5 driver in the category.
Chev/Team18 are now in the position of having to offer up more $$$ to entice the move *down* the grid.

Jamie getting the band back together, with Cauchi to join them before the Bend taking over as #888 engineer.

Interesting is that he is only doing it part time. Will that hurt Will long term?

Apparently Commins is also part-time with Brodie. So you'd think not?

That's not a surprising move but surprising timing!

Some drivers just never get their heads around Supercars eh. Feel for Fraser, but it just hasn't clicked.

Murray is fast, but his two seasons have been patchy. Let's see if this new team improves that or not.

As if GM had anything to do with it. Just another Macnamara wank.

Quote3. Hughes. outstanding driver, and with a GM contract already in another series. GM should demand that one of their teams run him next year.

As I suggested on another thread previously.

Good on GM and two co-operative GM teams for giving an outstanding driver a go.

Any movement around Erebus or PremiAir is not a shining endorsement. Two teams fighting over the wooden spoon.

If it wasn't for Declan Fraser being axed at PremiAir and replaced by Cooper Murray, Cooper would've stayed at Erebus and it would've been Jobe Stewart facing the chop for Jarrod Hughes.

I believe Jobe is still on the chopping block for Lachie Dalton.
