Welcome to the 2021 V8 Central Fantasy League.

Each V8 Central Fantasy League member will choose the allotted number of cars per group. You will also choose a car manufacturer for your team and declare which state or territory you will be home based in. If you are not an Australian, you can declare New Zealand, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, or Asia.

PLEASE USE THE 2021 TEAM REGISTRATION THREAD TO DO THIS.

Manufacturer - Choose 1:

Open to ANY type of proper model/make for our series and not limited to what is currently run, that being Ford or Holden.

Home Base Location – Choose 1:

Australian state/territory, New Zealand, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, or South America.  Attempt to make it "close" to your present situation.

Throughout the season:

A maximum of FOUR car changes (total) will be allowed in Groups A through E.

A maximum of TWO reshuffling changes will be allowed in Group F.

Changes can be made at any time. Car changes made prior to Midnight Thursday Sydney, NSW time prior to the upcoming weekend round will go into effect for that round. Changes after Midnight Thursday, Sydney, NSW time, will go into effect for the next round. Sydney, NSW time, will be used for the V8CFL with respect to time stamps for all rounds.

Car changes must be made within the same group.

Points are scored by cars – not drivers. For example, if you have Car 18 on your team, Mark Winterbottom is that driver to start the season with. If he vacates Car 18, for whatever reason, and another driver takes over, you will still have Car 18 on your team. If Winterbottom subsequently starts driving Car 7, and you do not have Car 7 on your team, you do not have Winterbottom as a driver. You still have Car 18 unless you change cars in that respective group. Car 18 gets you points. Car 7 does not – unless you make a change to pick up THAT car in that group.

For the enduro round, whoever pairs up with the drivers in your cars, is on your team, but the car still gets the points – whoever is driving.

Please use the applicable Team Registration thread to make changes. Do not PM me with them. I want everything out in the open for all to see.

Points and scoring:

Each RACE will be scored for points.

Non-enduro rounds: Your total points tally from all of your Group A through Group E cars will be used to determine where you finish for the given race. Nine cars.

SPECIAL EVENTS - NEW POINT FORMAT FOR THREE NON-ENDURO ROUNDS:

For Rounds 3, 6, and 9, Symmons Plains, Hidden Valley, and Wanneroo, there will be a State/Territory/New Zealand/Continent Challenge. This will be known as the Geographical Challenge. All scores for each team within those individual geographical boundaries will be added together and divided by the number of teams to determine a victor.  This will be a separate portion of the V8CFL and will not affect the table.  Scoring for the Geographical Challenge will be 9-6-4-3-2-1.

For these three rounds, in Race 1 of each round, your Groups A and B cars will NOT be scored. Your TOP THREE listed Group F cars WILL be scored. Nine cars.  This scoring system is applicable to the V8CFL table.

Races 2 and 3 will be under the normal points scoring format.

For all Enduro rounds, ALL Group A through E cars will be scored AND the TOP TWO Group F finishers – eleven cars in total.

Based on your total points, you will be placed in a finishing position/order. Whatever points per race the Repco Supercars are issuing for that given race, the V8CFL will also issue, based upon where you finished with your total point tally. For example, winners will receive either 300, 150, or 75 points.

Your cars in Group F will be utilized for tiebreaking purposes. The highest finisher in Group F will break the tie. It does not matter where your Groups A through E cars finish, Group F will decide the tie. Each participant will have all six cars in Group F in a listed order. That order will be your preference for breaking any ties.

For example:

If Participant A has Group F order as 4, 12, 22, 34, 35, 99
& Participant B has Group F order as 99, 1, 22, 34, 35, 12

It comes down to who finished higher – Car 4 or Car 99. If both participants have the same car listed first in the order, it will go to the second, and so on, until broken.

There will be NO identical teams. If there are, I reserve the right to reshuffle Group F drivers from third to sixth choices. I will not change the first and second choices.

Sometimes teams change car numbers for various purposes. A change in car number from 17 to 300, for example, does not exclude the 17 Car from scoring. It will be recognized without saying that the 300 Car is/was/will be the 17 Car and scored accordingly.

Tiebreakers (in conclusion):

All ties will be broken using the following formula:

1) Highest finishing Group F car (points-wise) in race.

2) If tied, second highest finishing Group F car (points-wise).

3) If the applicable Group F cars do NOT break the tie (all cars in the same order), the highest finishing Group A through E car (points-wise) will then break the tie. If that is a tie, the second highest (points-wise), and so on until the tie is broken.

4) If prior to a racing weekend, if two teams form identical team rosters (all nine cars the same in Groups A-E and all Group F cars in the same order), I will reshuffle the Group F cars for the participant who last changed their roster.

All members joining late, or mid-season, will receive last place points for the previous rounds missed in an order to blend into the table more smoothly.

PENALTIES: Any points penalties levied against any team or driver by Repco Supercars will be fully recognized by the V8CFL. Said penalty, however, must be assessed due to a violation during a race, or post race inspection.

If a penalty is levied against a driver or team for a rules violation during qualification, practice, or something bizarre such as a pit garage fight/scuffle, the V8CFL will NOT recognize the penalty. It must be directly related to the racing, or race incident.

CAMS Stewards Summaries will be the guideline for any penalties.

2021 V8CFL Tournament:

The V8CFL Tournament portion will be the same format as last year. The number of teams and division alignment will depend on how many members we have in 2021.

To inform any NEW members as to how this will look, just check out last year's Tournament format.

Tournament scores will only utilize the cars which score V8CFL points from each race, totaled together for a final score. Each race will accumulate points, but the overall ROUND score will be the final score for that weekend. So, the bottom line is whatever your V8CFL bag of points your cars score for every given ROUND, that is your point total in the Tournament.

The last few rounds will be the Playoffs. The number of the Playoff rounds will vary dependent upon how many teams are in the Tournament. The qualification for the Playoffs will be determined once how many teams are entered has been finalized, based upon W-L records.

If overall W-L records are tied the tiebreakers will be as follows:

1 - Best Division W-L record
2 - Largest points differential in any Regular Season race
3 - Second largest points differential in any Regular Season race

If individual non-enduro round matchups are tied, the highest point total of any race will decide the winner. If it is the enduro round, the V8CFL Table tiebreaking formula will be utilized.

The first Bathurst will NOT be part of the Tournament. The Sandown Round (Round 2) will kickoff the 2021 Tournament. I am leaving the first round out due to people signing up at the last minute. Once the season starts, the Tournament will commence with Round 2. Divisional alignment and placing will be determined by the Round 1 results – top-to-bottom.

Media Center:

The Arrow will be in charge of this department for 2021. His rules are posted. It is up and running.

************

Please feel free to ask questions on this thread, and this thread only, so all rules/points breakdowns will be clear to all. Chances are, if YOU have a question, someone else has the same question. Ask.

I reserve the right for final say in rules.

In conclusion for 2021:

V8CFL: Each race will be scored for points. For non-enduro rounds Group A through E cars (nine cars) count for points. Group F will not. The exception will be the first race of each of the three Geographical Challenge Rounds (nine cars – no Groups A or B, three from Group F). For the enduro round, all Group A through E cars score points along with the Top 2 in Group F (eleven cars).

Group F will be used as part of the tiebreaking formula this year (reference above). If Group F does not break the tie, then we will revert back the highest finishing of the Group A through E cars will become the tiebreaker.

V8CFL Tournament: The given cars each race will score points. Total ROUND points for all rounds will be used for final tally and to determine round victor. Hence you will either win or lose only once per round.

You are allowed FOUR changes total in Groups A through E.

You are also allowed TWO reshuffles in Group F – the tiebreakers.
