I wanted to start this one off by patting myself on the back for figuring out how to make that little hard vowel straight line symbol over the "o" in Taupō using Microsoft Word. :D

Three races (8, 9, and 10) with a Top Ten Shootout for Race 10.

Copying & pasting such characters is a thing I lazily use Google for, along with calculator and thesaurus. I'm sure the AI could hallucinate well about all the strange words and things we type into there.

Great.  I don't like the sound of the word 'cyclone'.

Thanks again with your typing skills, Bloopy.  However, I must say that I don't like the sound of 'AI' either.

By the time they reach NZ, cyclones usually weaken and become ex-tropical cyclones. That means winds not as severe but still a lot of rain. But occasionally they can still be cyclones status therefore we keep calling them cyclones so the public are not complacent.
Also the greatest impact is usually in coastal areas. Taupo is about 2 hours from the coast.
A lot depends on where this storm tracks. If it decides to travel down the middle of the island it'll weaken a bit but still be bad. If it tracks east or west winds in Taupo shouldn't be a major issue but it will be very wet everywhere.
I live an hour north of Taupo and on Saturday will be checking the nails in my roof are all good.

Don't have time to hunt it down as I'm still working but check out the video clip of Tom and Cam (and the faked Unzed accent!)... it's on the team fb page.

Quote from: Mechz on April 11, 2026, 03:54:13 PMSome good racing today.

I enjoyed it as well.

Woody certainly has the pizazz, trying to go round the outside of Will. Good on Will for putting his elbows up, he's looked to lose his mojo recently.

If Chaz had've held P1, he would've got the win with Woody playing rear gunner in the same manner Chaz did. Big picture, Chaz probably did the right thing to keep team harmony.

So with the weekend being cut short, I assume Ruapuna is now worth 380pts for the weekend?

Excellence Awards are available.  It was noted by madbugger that perhaps we should have waited until the first race of the upcoming round was completed prior to voting.  Maybe I leapt the rifle?  I mean 'jumped the gun'?  Either way, voting is open.
