Time certain in enduros is ridiculous. We say this every year.

The Bend is in the middle of nowhere, noise should not be an issue. The race runs on PayTV, should not be an issue with news bulletins.

Rubbish.

Add to this, James Golding is going to get ****ed by this, which in my view is totally incorrect.

what do you expect from the mickey mouse organisation running this 💩show?

Cracking race, that. TWG catching everyone napping again at the right time of the year.

That 5 second for Payne was pure bull****.

GM teams still found wanting after a tweak.

WTF is wrong with DJR? Zero race pace. Full dry setup?

I have the same question in DJR. It does sound like teams thought it would dry up about 50 laps earlier.

Once they lost a lap and it dried without safety cars it was game over for them.

Great drive from Walkinshaw cars and great strategy call. Their co-drivers really set that up well!

Slade and Allen, very very good and a bit unlucky not to get it.

Also, had Pye not collected 30sec of penalties, Will Brown would have been in the podium fight. Pye did well to get back in contention, but also an avoidable mess.

Another pathetic call. BRT have had both cars DSQ'd as their main drivers did not reach the required minimum laps. Why? Because the race was called time certain.

I agree. Payne should have got 15 seconds.

Was a ripper race with some great drives. Will did a top job to come back through the field after being turned around and put back to last.....along with drives by others. Wonderful catch by Slade, else could have been nasty.
Thought the optics humorous when Wood helped Jaxon Evans out of the car for changeover, by grabbing the HANS device and pulling him out be the head.

Don't get me wrong, I do not like the minimum required drive time rule, but it is telling when every other team got it right and only one didn't. They were caught napping, as they've since admitted with the teams timing software being wrong. The shame is for Golding, who goes from most likely to making the playoffs to least likely. But alas, time certainty in a enduro should not be happening regardless.

Payne is starting to get that mongrel about him, it's great to see. Rubbed up a few guys on the way through. I wonder what the consensus on here would be if it was SVG handing out the hip and shoulder.

888's recent enduro run has got to be there worst in forever? No podium amongst the last 3 races.

And another thought - the rain meant we didn't actually get to see if the West Circuit delivered a better 500. We'll have to wait for next year to see.

I agree, I hate the time certain but it sounds like teams have the software to predict this. That's a bad error.

However, I do think that Stanaway and Golding can be a threat at Bathurst. One has won the race and the other crossed the line first in 2025.

The right circumstances and this would be my Smokey for the race.

I found the West circuit was easier to follow and I liked the shorter lap times. Didn't have to wait longer for the passing spots to come around, keeping the battles closer.

the "2nd's" were outstanding... the conditions were thrown at them and they excelled...

BRT... very disappointed for them... in other places around town folk are suggesting, ala cricket, that if race laps are reduced then the minimum laps for a driver should also reduce... I kinda agree (don't know if that would have made a difference in this instance)... both cars would have been fully in the window if it went full distance (which it should have)...

Walkies... 1&3? reckon they'll take that! Mozzie 20 secs in front of Kai (also nice work!) and over 30 secs in front of his team mate

another what could have been for Randle after a stellar drive from Goodall... running in 2nd for ages in the worst of it only to get punted to the back of the field.

tough gig for the Erebus cars... running well early but the weather conspired and dropped them both to nowhere (14/18)

so ends this years Bend 480...

It has been said that those who disregard history are doomed to repeat the mistakes.

Some will call it nostalgia, but I believe it is history directly relevant to the disqualification.
Paul Morris was robbed of a Bathurst win due to a similar miscalculation by the team manager. Maybe some of the current hotshots should be looking at History.

It shows the error of relying on computers (rubbish in = rubbish out) instead of doing it with pen on paper and double checking or triple checking between the relevant engineers and the team manager. ALL teams were well aware of the race length regulations.

For those suggesting that there should be a percentage system, I believe there is.

But once a race runs past a certain distance it no longer applies.

Yesterdays race was both too short and too long for that rule to be in effect I believe

I enjoyed the race, but I have to admit, I thought I heard the canned studio audience cheers when Chaz took the checkers.   ;D

Yeah, I got a chuckle out of that one, too.  That along with Reynolds waving to Courtney when JC had to stay in the car for another stint for they were in-between strategy runs, and DJR power washing the front of Kostecki's car right on pit lane.

At one point I think it was Larko that said (on pit road) that the 19 car just came in the pits and every window was fogged up on the inside.

Anyone think another tweak for Chevrolet prior to Bathurst will be in the cards or did the rainy Bend conditions nullify any proper data gathering and Supercars will hold their cards?
